jobSCAN badges show facts, not opinions. We only award a badge on the basis of a public, verifiable source; it cannot be bought, and anyone can check it. This page explains exactly what it means, where it comes from and when it disappears.
What does the SNF badge mean?
The company that placed the listing is in the public register of Stichting Normering Flexwonen (SNF). SNF is the Dutch quality standard for worker housing: companies in the register are inspected annually by accredited, independent inspection bodies. SNF register ↗
What does the ABU badge mean?
The company is a member of ABU (Algemene Bond Uitzendondernemingen), the Dutch association of temporary employment agencies. Membership requires SNA certification (NEN 4400-1): an independent inspection body checks that the company pays wage taxes and social contributions and verifies its workers’ identity and right to work. We check membership in ABU’s public member register, which lists every member’s KvK number. The same rules on expiry and revocation apply as for the SNF badge. ABU member register ↗
What it does not mean
jobSCAN has not inspected the housing or the workplace, and the badge is no guarantee of the specific job, the pay, or that the listing includes housing. It only says: on the day of the check, the company was in the register.
How do we check?
- We regularly download the complete public SNF register.
- We also regularly download ABU’s public member register; it lists every member’s KvK number, so matching there is primarily by KvK number.
- We match a listing by the company’s KvK number (Dutch Chamber of Commerce number) or its exactly matching company name. If the name fits more than one company, we award no badge.
- If a company advertises under a brand name, only our editor can link it to the legal name in the register — manually, one by one.
- The date on the badge is the day of the last check.
How long is it valid, and when does it disappear?
If a company leaves the register, the badge is removed from all its listings at the next check; we record the date of revocation. If we cannot refresh our copy of the register for 180 days, all SNF badges disappear automatically until the next successful check — we do not show badges based on outdated data.
Can it be bought?
No. The badge is free, and no package or subscription gives a “verified” mark. Paying buys visibility, not a tick.
